Osceola National Forest Prescribed Fire
This just in! The Florida chapter of The Nature Conservancy along with the Florida Park Service will be offering a Basic Wildland Firefighter training session at Wekiwa Springs State Park from Feb 13-17, 2012. The session will include S-130, S-190, and I-180. The training is free, however meals are on your own. Lodging may be available on site. This is a limited registration course with priority given to TNC and FPS employees. If you are interested in participating in this course (required for Red Card) contact Amy Copeland of the Florida Park Service (Amy.Copeland@dep.state.fl.us).
I am very interested in getting my red card so I can start helping with the wildfires all over the country. I am currently a heavy equipment operator that works in Daytona Beach FL. and would like to get into fighting fires. Please email me back if I am able to participate in this class.
